In-Person or  Virtual

 

Every room in a home should reflect what the homeowner loves and how they’d like to live. Interiors should evoke feelings of warmth, comfort and happiness. Whether enhancing homes by “re-purposing” much of the homeowner’s existing furnishings or starting with a blank slate, I work collaboratively with my clients from start to finish.  And whether it’s choosing furniture, wallcovering, art, accessories, paint or lighting, my goal is to transform their spaces through creativity that meshes with my clients’ tastes and lifestyle - all while making the process as stress-free and fun as possible. MRI upholds the value of transparency. We don’t mark-up  products - and whenever possible we share designer discounts.

our process

Midwest Roots Interiors is a local boutique design company that offers clients different packages to suit their specific needs.  Whether it’s a package that fits your design goals or purchasing a bundle of hours for your design needs, the process is transparent and straightforward.  We believe that everyone has a right to live in a beautiful space that makes them happy to be home.

Complimentary Discovery Call

Our process always begins with a Complimentary Discovery Call to get to know you and better understand your project in more detail. If you are comfortable moving forward with our paid consultation, we will then coordinate a day and time that works for all. Once payment is received, I will email you a welcome package along with our Client Lifestyle Questionnaire and instructions on how to create Pinterest boards so you could share inspiration photos of spaces that reflect your style, tastes, comfort, and needs.

Consultation

The next step is a Paid Consultation where we’ll meet either in-person or virtually with those in the home who’ll be the decision makers of the project. We walk through the spaces together and discuss your needs, personality, lifestyle and tastes. We’ll point out which items might be repurposed. During this meeting, notes and measurements of the spaces will be taken in detail. If you’re a virtual client, you’ll provide measurements and photos of your spaces. We will review the Client Lifestyle Questionnaire and ask lots of questions to fully understand who you are, and what would make the space ideal from your perspective. And finally we’ll discuss the budget you’re comfortable with.

Zoom Call

We will follow up shortly with a Zoom Call to discuss in detail our proposed design plan, project estimate and payment timeline along with our design agreement and next steps in getting your project started.

Design Presentation

Next we’ll have an on-site or virtual Presentation. At this meeting, we will present our mood/concept boards, 2D Floor Plans, shopping list of products and design notes with explanations. You’ll receive a certain amount of allowable revisions. Once revised, if necessary, we will seek your final approval and determine if you will be implementing or if you would prefer for us to implement.

Implementation

If you wish to implement the plan yourself, you will have a full shopping list with links to purchase and install. If you would prefer for us to implement the project, upon hiring us for further assistance, we can purchase all items on your behalf using your credit card. All items will be delivered to your home. If in-person, you have the option of hiring us to return for an installation day! In person clients have two different working options; a room-by-room package or “bundle of hours” depending on the design needs . Virtual clients can also choose from a selection of packages that align with their design goals.

We offer per-room design packages that vary by the features offered. Depending on the scope of your project and design goals, each package offers unique features as needed and desired. With each package you may receive:

  • 2D Floor Plan with furniture placement

  • Final Room Design

  • Color Palette

  • Shopping List with Links

  • Designer Direction and Notes including styling tips/guides

  • Option To Hire MRI For Full Implementation

"recreate the vision"

Starting at $199 per room.

“Recreate The Vision”-(starting at $199.00 per room)

“Recreate The Vision” is geared toward our virtual design clients who enjoy both the design process and shopping online, and wish to be more involved, this package may be a great fit. After a Complimentary Discovery Call, we ask that you complete our Design Lifestyle Questionnaire, provide photos and measurements of your spaces. You’ll receive a 2D floor plan with a coordinating mood/concept board from which you can “Recreate the Vision” of our curated design at your leisure and from vendors of your choice.

"revitalize & elevate"

Starting at $450 per room.

Our “Revitalize and Elevate” package is geared toward either our in-person or virtual clients, and provides a bit more hand-holding for those who may need more guidance and design direction. This is a great fit for someone who loves to shop, may have an eye for design but needs some assistance completing the plan. This package also begins with a Complimentary Discovery Call, followed by either an On-Site Consultation or Virtual Consultation to get to know you, and better understand your project. We walk through the designated spaces to understand your design needs, functions, tastes, and preferences, while discussing the completed questionnaire in detail. If in-person, I will take measurements and photos, and if virtual, you'll provide those to me along with inspiration photos from Pinterest or Houzz that reflect your desired design goals. 

In return, we provide two boards per room. One board is an actual 2D floor plan of the room and the other is a mood/concept board of the exact items we source for the space. In addition to the boards, you will receive a spreadsheet with shoppable links to these items along with designer guidelines, notes with the reasoning behind selection of items featured and overall design plan.

elevate "+"

Starting at $750 per room

Taking the “Revitalize and Elevate” one step further…our Elevate “+” package includes all the same features as the latter with a few bonus features. In addition to all the above, we offer paint color recommendations, accessories, and artwork along with the option of delegating the purchase of all items on your behalf with your credit card. If your project is in-person, you’ll be given the option to hire us per hour to do a full implementation of the design plan including styling of accessories, furniture placement and hanging of any artwork.

"finishing touches"

Starting at $300 per room.

You may not need an entire room refreshed, but perhaps may need a few accessories or smaller pieces to compliment your existing furnishings. With this option, you’ll receive a complimentary Discovery Call followed by a detailed list with shoppable links of products. If you are more of a “DIY” type of person you will have total flexibility in shopping the items on your own, or you can hire us by the hour to shop the items and style them in your home if in-person.
